{"id":401,"date":"2026-02-16T13:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T13:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cuvkun.org\/?p=401"},"modified":"2026-02-16T15:24:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T15:24:11","slug":"cuvkun-completes-output-verification-mission-with-undp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cuvkun.org\/pt\/cuvkun-completes-output-verification-mission-with-undp\/","title":{"rendered":"CUVKUN Completes Output Verification Mission with UNDP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A team of&nbsp;CUVKUN Project technical staff and UNDP&nbsp;team responsible for monitoring and evaluating project activities, went on a week long output verification mission to selected sites&nbsp;within the Cuvelai and Kunene basins from the&nbsp; 09-15 November 2025.<br>The&nbsp;mission&nbsp;captured the progress made in the implementation of the project outputs,&nbsp;document project success, lessons learnt, and challenges encountered&nbsp;thus far. The scope of project activities which were monitored on the Namibian side of the Cuvelai Basin included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The construction of rainwater harvesting earth ponds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The rehabilitation of an existing deep well to improve safety, reliability, and year-round water access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The upgrading of existing hydrometric stations to restore their functionality and enhance flood early warning capabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/cuvkun.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image010-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cuvkun.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image010-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cuvkun.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image010-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/cuvkun.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image010-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/cuvkun.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image010-9x12.jpg 9w, https:\/\/cuvkun.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image010.jpg 1380w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Angolan side of the Kunene Basin the team looked at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The rehabilitation of an existing borehole, complemented by solar-powered desalination and brine management systems<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The rehabilitation and upgrading of existing hydrometric stations to restore their functionality and enhance flood early warning capabilities<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gabion weir construction, mobile solar pumping for irrigation, and the introduction of drip irrigation<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The repair of canal flood regulation gates with institutional strengthening among irrigation associations to improve water governance, reduce conflict and enhance market linkages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A comprehensive report&nbsp;will be developed and integrated with the Quarterly Reports and the Project Implementation Report (PIR).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A team of&nbsp;CUVKUN Project technical staff and UNDP&nbsp;team responsible for monitoring and evaluating project activities, went on a week long output verification mission to selected sites&nbsp;within the Cuvelai and Kunene basins from the&nbsp; 09-15 November 2025.The&nbsp;mission&nbsp;captured the progress made in the implementation of the project outputs,&nbsp;document project success, lessons learnt, and challenges encountered&nbsp;thus far.
