The CUVKUN Project held a virtual consultation with the Member States of Angola and Namibia on 07 October 2025. The meeting aimed to allow stakeholders from both countries to input and give recommendations to various reports and project tools produced under the six components of the CUVKUN Project during the second quarter of 2025.
Discussions included inputs on the institutional arrangements and financing for the establishment of the Cuvelai Commission (CUVECOM) and Kunene Permanent Joint Technical Committee (PJTC) joint secretariat, the guidelines to the establishment of a Basin Stakeholders’ Engagement Platform and the Integrated Water Resource Management Plan Strategy and Implementation Plan.
The Member States also had the opportunity to offer feedback on a Revised Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Action Plan for the basins and the development of the project Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM).
