The Knowledge Hub serves as a central platform for the data, tools, and lessons learned from the project to ensure sustainability, replication, and effective decision-making. Reports, documents and other knowledge products are housed here for ease of access for a wider scope of stakeholders.

Social and Environmental Standards Reports

In a bid to ensure mainstreaming of social and environmental sustainability to support sustainable development, the GEF-UNDP CUVKUN Project under implementation in Angola and Namibia, has developed a number of Social and Environmental Standards (SES) reports.

The following CUVKUN Project reports are hereby published for public review. This ensures that stakeholder engagement guarantees transparency, inclusivity, and meaningful participation in decision-making processes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement Plan
  • Social and Environmental Screening Procedure (SESP) at implementation
  • Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs)
  • Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs)
  • Cultural Heritage Reports; for Angola and Namibia


The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) as the Executing Agency. The Cuvelai Commission (CUVECOM) and Kunene Permanent Joint Technical Committee (PJTC) are the custodians of the project implementation.
