The Enhanced Water Security and Community Resilience in the Adjacent Cuvelai and Kunene Transboundary River Basins (CUVKUN) Project is financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as the GEF Implementing Agency and Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) as the Executing and Contracting Entity. The interventions are being implemented in collaboration with the Cuvelai Watercourse Commission (CUVECOM). The Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation Coordination (DWSSC) Ohangwena serves as a key institutional and technical partner in the co-design of the interventions and will support the long-term custodianship, operation and sustainability of the water-access systems. The interventions are designed to contribute to improved rangeland management by strengthening livestock water access and supporting more sustainable use and distribution of grazing resources, thereby contributing to climate-resilient pastoral livelihoods.
GWPSA invites suitably qualified and experienced Namibian contractors to submit bids for the supply, rehabilitation and installation of community water-access systems at Okanyanona, Omboloka and Oluwaya in Ohangwena Region.
The works generally comprise rehabilitation and mechanisation of existing community hand dug wells; installation of solar-powered pumping systems, elevated water-storage tanks, distribution pipework, standpipes and cattle-watering troughs; associated civil, electrical and protective works; testing and commissioning; and practical capacity development for community participants and operators.
Bidders must be legally registered and demonstrate relevant experience and capacity in small civil works and solar-pumping installations. Full eligibility and qualification requirements are provided in the bidding documents.

Site visits are non-mandatory and may be undertaken by prior arrangement with GWPSA in accordance with the bidding documents.
Bids must be submitted electronically in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

Late bids will not be considered. GWPSA is not bound to accept the lowest or any bid and will not reimburse costs incurred in preparing a bid.
